The CES mission recognizes that we live in a world with increasing environmental and related social problems that are rapidly reaching crisis levels. We need to work toward solving these problems ourselves, but we especially need a new generation of creative, solution-oriented leaders.

We are the Disc Golf Club for Washington College. Disc golf is structured so that it emphasizes honesty and builds character in individuals. We believe that every person should have an opportunity to experience true sportsmanship in a team-oriented environment. Our program ensures that disc golf is played according to the rules of the sport and with a positive attitude. The Washington College Democrats, or commonly referred to as the WAC Dems, is the organization for political advocacy, information, and democratic advancement on campus devoted to spreading overall political education and awareness. Founded in the Spring of April 1950, the Washington College Democrats hope to provide community members with an understanding of the political process, current events and policies that affect the average citizen of the United States, as well as the world. As an organization, we seek to discuss pragmatic politics that will ensure civil liberties, human rights, national security, and equal opportunities for every citizen and advocate policies that will shape a better future for generations to come.

The International Studies Council / Model United Nations team is an organization for undergraduate students that are either interested in international issues or are majoring in fields relevant to international affairs. The National Honor Society for Dance ArtsÔäó (NHSDA) is a program of the National Dance Education Organization, created to recognize outstanding artistic merit, leadership, and academic achievement in students studying dance in public and private schools in K-12 education, dance studios, cultural/community centers, performing arts organizations, and post-secondary education. The NHSDA offers three levels of induction: The Junior Program for grades 6-8, The Secondary Program for grades 9-12, and The Collegiate Program for students in college or university dance programs. Establishing an NHSDA chapter in your school is one very important way that you can honor your students and help advance the field of dance education.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF JOINING THE NSLS AND WHAT DOES MY MEMBERSHIP FEE COVER?
As explained on the membership application, once you have completed the steps to become an official member of the NSLS, your membership items are sent to your local chapter leaders to present to you during the induction ceremony. Your membership kit includes a t-shirt, certificate, car decal, pin, and plaque (if purchased during registration).

Psi Chi is the local chapter of the national psychology honor society. Membership is awarded to psychology majors in the upper one-third of their class who have demonstrated productive scholarship in psychology. The organization hosts various guest speakers and sponsors occasional field trips to points of interest. In addition, members have the opportunity to explore the graduate school admission process.

Psi Chi encourages, stimulates, and maintains excellence in scholarship, and advances the science of psychology. Qualifying Psychology majors and minors (whose GPA are within the top one-third of their graduating class) are sent invitations to join each February.

Whether you jog a mile a week or are grinding for your first marathon, we love to run and we want you to come with us! The upcoming fall semester threw a monkey wrench into our plans, so unfortunately we are no longer able to do group runs, hold our bi-annual campus fun run, or drive to races...

We may be down but we're not out!

There will still be a club GroupMe page that members are highly encouraged to use to share routes, workouts, goals, or just to chat. Since last semester we have also maintained a Strava club for those who like to track workouts. We have a nice mile-long cross country loop around the practice fields that is a great way to get off the road and squeeze in a couple of hills. We are also working on getting a full 5k (maybe even 8k) cross country loop on the River and Field Campus as well, so stay tuned for that.

The Running Club has a strong core of Alum and veterans who I am sure would be happy to talk to any incoming freshmen about their experiences, goals, workouts, etc. so please DO NOT HESITATE to reach out to any of us.

Our Mission is to provide a competitive soccer team for those who love to play soccer. We believe that the team is more than a group of people that meet once a week to scrimmage. Team functions much a Family, after practice we have family dinner at the dining hall. Having these dinners allow our team to bond on a deeper level.

The Washington College Soccer Club is co-ed and competes in the Eastern Pennsylvania Division in Region 1 of the NIRSA Championship Series. The team practices three times a week during the Fall and play mostly double-header conference games on the weekends. HISTORY

The Elm is a weekly newspaper published by and for the students of Washington College. Since its start in 1930, The Elm has been a resource for campus news and student opinion. The Elm prints about 24 issues a year, depending on budgetary restraints.

The newspaper is a tabloid-style, 12-page publication with five content sections: News, Opinion, Student Life, Lifestyle, and Sports. The staff is comprised of about 10 editors and managers as well as contributing writers and photographers, all of whom attend the College full time along with editing and writing for The Elm.
