Mission

The CES mission recognizes that we live in a world with increasing environmental and related social problems that are rapidly reaching crisis levels. We need to work toward solving these problems ourselves, but we especially need a new generation of creative, solution-oriented leaders.

Everything we do prepares our undergraduates – the next generation of leaders – to help solve the most pressing environmental problems of the 21st Century through innovative curriculum, real-world experiences, training in cutting edge technologies, and new ways of thinking.

The National Honor Society for Dance ArtsÔäó (NHSDA) is a program of the National Dance Education Organization, created to recognize outstanding artistic merit, leadership, and academic achievement in students studying dance in public and private schools in K-12 education, dance studios, cultural/community centers, performing arts organizations, and post-secondary education. The NHSDA offers three levels of induction: The Junior Program for grades 6-8, The Secondary Program for grades 9-12, and The Collegiate Program for students in college or university dance programs. Establishing an NHSDA chapter in your school is one very important way that you can honor your students and help advance the field of dance education.

Psi Chi is the local chapter of the national psychology honor society. Membership is awarded to psychology majors in the upper one-third of their class who have demonstrated productive scholarship in psychology. The organization hosts various guest speakers and sponsors occasional field trips to points of interest. In addition, members have the opportunity to explore the graduate school admission process.

Psi Chi encourages, stimulates, and maintains excellence in scholarship, and advances the science of psychology. Qualifying Psychology majors and minors (whose GPA are within the top one-third of their graduating class) are sent invitations to join each February.
